About the Farm House

Belhuish Farm House is mentioned in the Domesday Book.  The name 'Belhuish' is Anglo Saxon meaning 'small holding, run by woman and big enough to support a family!'

The farm house was once much bigger than it is now, but over many years it fell into disrepair but was saved and renovated by it's current tenants.

The building is also used as the headquarters for R V Miller Thatching Contractors, a family business which was established in 1966 and undertakes all the Weld Estate thatching.  Over this period many young apprentices have been trained to maintain the ancient craft of thatching.

Although Belhuish is not a working farm, it's surrounded by wildlife and farm animals.  There are many public footpaths passing through the farm and lots of pretty walks and beautiful scenery.

Rod looks forward to welcoming you to his home!
